Metal Gear Solid Collection Disappoints

The Metal Gear Solid Collection has not been well received and the default resolution and frame rate give us an idea of the development going into this port.

The frame rate and resolutions for the Metal Gear Solid Collection have been revealed, and it’s disappointing, to say the least. Clocking in with only a 1080p resolution and even 30 fps on the first game. The Nintendo Switch version will be 30 fps on all three games, running at 1080p in docked mode and 720p in handheld mode.

There’s no excuse for PS2-era games only being 1080p on modern hardware. In fact, you can emulate Metal Gear Solid on the Xbox Series S at higher resolutions than what they're offering. These classic games deserve better than this.

Another Starfield Update Released

Bethesda has released another update which brings some fixes and improvements.

Starfield launched for the most part in a pretty good state, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t glitches that could use some fixing. This is the second patch we’ve seen since release that’s being titled version 1.7.33 and while it will not bring any of the features many are hoping for, it does fix some issues that could have been plaguing your adventures.

General

  • Characters: Fixed an issue that could cause some characters to not be in their proper location.
  • Star Stations: Fixed an issue where Star Stations would be labeled as a player-owned ship.
  • Vendors: Addressed an issue that allowed for a vendor’s full inventory to be accessible.

Graphics

  • AMD (PC): Resolved an issue that caused star lens flares not to appear correctly AMD GPUs.
  • Graphics: Addressed an upscaling issue that could cause textures to become blurry.
  • Graphics: Resolved an issue that could cause photosensitivity issues when scrolling through the inventory menu.

Performance and Stability

  • Hand Scanner: Addressed an issue where the Hand Scanner caused hitching.
  • Various stability and performance improvements to address crashing and freezes.

Ships

  • Displays: Fixed an issue that would cause displayed items to disappear when applied to in-ship mannequins.
  • Displays: Fixed an issue that would cause items stored in Razorleaf Storage Containers and Weapon Racks to disappear after commandeering another ship.

You may want to hold off on updating if you are interested in cheating the system as a well-known money glitch has been fixed in this patch. Overall it is a small update for a game that doesn’t have many issues other than some basic features that I am sure many hope will eventually be available such as an in-game field-of-view option and of course DLSS and FSR3 support.

Sonic Frontiers Final Update

The Final Horizon update is finally upon us and it's bringing some awesome additions.

The Sonic team announced multiple free content updates would be released after Sonic Frontiers launched and the final content drop is now available for you to try out. But what does it bring, read below to find out.

  • New story: Head back to Ouranos Island and play through additional stories!
  • New Playable Characters: Play as Tails, Amys, or Knuckles, each with their own unique powers and abilities!
  • New challenges, collectibles, and more!
  • Additional bug fixes and quality of life adjustments.

This update may be the best yet but let’s not forget what we’ve already received in the past couple of free updates which includes a Battle Rush mode, Cyber Space Challenge mode, Photo mode, jukebox, New Game +, Action Chain Challenges, cosmetic items, and even Sonic’s Spin Dash ability. The Sonic Team has really become a breath of fresh air for an industry that is usually more interested in pushing for more microtransaction profit rather than providing a new quality experience.
