Welcome to this months new game release highlights for July 2023. The video game industry is always churning out some hidden gems and this month is no different. From strategy games to action platformers, lets take a look at five standout games coming soon to a store near you.

Exoprimal | July 14th | PC, PS5, PS4, XBO, XBS | $60

Announced last year during the PlayStation State of Play event, Exoprimal puts exosuit-fitted players up against hordes of ruthless creatures. It's the year 2040 and you must stop the Neosaurs which are mutated dinosaurs from whipping out humanity. As you join the Aibius corporation ranks, you will take advantage of their exosuit technology with the option of three roles: assault, tank, and support. This online, team-based action game releases for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on July 14th for $60. It will also be available on day one for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

Pikmin 4 | July 21st | NS | $60

Pikmin is making its fourth return soon and the story revolves around the series protagonist Captain Olimar, crash-landing on an unknown planet and his rescuers from the Rescue Corps have unfortunately also crash-landed. Now as you become the latest recruit sent out by the Rescue Corps, you must not only save Olimar but the Rescue Corps as well. What could possibly go wrong in this scenario right?

In Pikmin 4 there is a refreshed deployment mechanic and new Pikmin abilities such as ice that allow for all kinds of interesting puzzles to solve. You will get your chance to meet the colorful Pikmin again on July 21st exclusively on the Nintendo Switch for $60.

Remnant 2 | July 25th | PC, PS5, XBS | $50

Remnant 2 is a follow-up to the well-received post-apocalyptic third-person shooter Remnant: From the Ashes. Take on horrific enemies and god-like bosses as you venture out across worlds to stop them from destroying reality itself. You will not only encounter dynamically generated dungeons but branching quest lines as well as an improved Archetype system that will bring unique powers and bonuses. This mature-rated soulslike-inspired action game will hit store shelves on July 25th for $50 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart | July 26th | PC | $60

While Insomniac has focused on creating some amazing Marvel Spider-Man games in recent years, that didn't stop them from innovating with a new take on their classic 3D adventure game Ratch and Clank in 2021 exclusively to the PlayStation 5. Well, now PC players are going to get a chance to blast through dimensions as this action platformer is set to release on July 26th for PC.

As Ratchet makes plans to search for his missing family through a device Clank repaired, Doctor Nefarious attempts to steal it which in the end causes dimensional rifts to open haphazardly. As a result, you will adventure through worlds meeting new characters as you try to repair the interdimensional anomalies before a bigger disaster occurs. You can attempt to stop the dimensional collapse for $60 on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Disney Illusion Island | July 28th | NS | $40

Dlala Studios most recently known for rebooting Battletoads in 2020 are bringing their hand-drawn art style to another established series, Mickey Mouse. In Disney Illusion Island with the help of Goofy and others, you will attempt to recover three mystical books to save the world. Have up to four friends join in this couch co-op platformer as you adventure through a mysterious island full of puzzles and secrets. In addition to the original orchestrated soundtrack, you will experience the authentic voice of these iconic characters. Join in on Mickey's quest starting July 28th for $40 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.


From the online action game of Exoprimal to the pluckable plantlike Pikmin, July is full of adventures waiting to be explored. Not only are these five games full of new takes on existing genres, they are sure to be a blast for existing fans and those just joining in the fun.
