Lies of P Update 1.2 Overview Cover

There are some very cool changes in this latest Lies of P patch. The field monster changes seem like good changes, you’ll see no complaints from me with the enemies getting staggered more and their stance getting broken more. The health decrease for the field monsters seemed overkill to me at first, but then I thought about how the wrench (heavy weapon) that I used felt like it could have been better against regular monsters. Hopefully, these changes are really felt with heavy weapons because I feel like they need a boost.

The gold tree now having the feature to reset the character's level, P-Organ, and Legion Arms is a welcome change, as it allows you to no longer have to fast travel back and forth to use the feature like before. The award adjustments are also a welcome change, as before this update star fragments were much too common a drop. For those who didn’t know they are only used to summon an optional specter during boss fights. I have over 50 that are worthless, and you have the option to purchase more! Now with this change, you should see more ergo and moon item drops from enemies.

On the more positive side of things is the buff to capacity. Before this patch upgrading your capacity only upgraded your capacity by 3 every single time. With capacity being so minuscule, it made getting slightly heavy always a problem when you got some new equipment. You also couldn’t really equip two weapons, (a feature I didn’t use once in my playthrough,) due to it being nearly impossible to get the weight down enough while also keeping good defensive items. If this buff is significant it could open doors to many new build combinations.

Where there are good changes, there are slightly weird changes. I was surprised they increased the Specter's health and damage. Spector's combined with the ability to heal them with cubes later on, is an extremely strong strategy. I guess they are trying to solidify this as the “easy mode”, but I thought it was in a good place before this update. They also decreased the health of the first phase of the King of Puppets boss fight, which I thought was a pretty easy first phase once you learned it. The second phase to me, was much worse than the first, having crazy long lasting attack sequences. But hey I was using the wrench that does a ton of damage, maybe other weapons needed a boost.

All in all, this was a great patch and I can’t wait to get back into my playthrough of Lies of P to see how the new increased chance of breaking some monsters' stance, and the frequency of stagger and other changes affect the experience. Oh, and I almost forgot about the collaboration weapons that Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is supposed to be getting today. Hopefully, Lies of P gets something out of their collaboration in the future as well. But more importantly… “Thank god they nerfed the butterflies HP!” - Someone.
