Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 leaks confirmed, releasing to Game Pass July 24th  Cover

Over the past few days, the rumor mill has spun out the idea of last year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 coming to Microsoft's Game Pass subscription service, and now it’s been verified. In a blog post today from the Xbox Wire, the leak has now been confirmed.

Get ready to lock in and load(out) as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III makes its way to Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate starting July 24! Featuring a high-octane single player campaign, energetic multiplayer and the series’ first open world Zombies experience, this game offers something for every type of CoD player. Classic Maps

My experience with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 ended with the Open Beta, as I finally broke my Call of Duty purchasing streak. Nonetheless, I may take another look once it launches on Game Pass tomorrow after reading up on the features. All the classic maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2009) are available in this one. After my terrible experience during the beta, it completely slipped my mind that the classic maps had made their return. Yet no matter how well designed a map is, if the gameplay is awful, the map will be dreadful.

Streaming Support

No information was given on whether the game will support Xbox Cloud Gaming, which would allow you to play from any device, such as a Quest VR headset. This is far from a dealbreaker, even though I'm sure there are a few who take advantage of such features. If you must play Call of Duty via streaming, last November Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and 3 launched on Nvidia's cloud streaming service, GeForce Now. Of course, the service currently requires you to own them, but other Game Pass games are featured, therefore I expect support for this game as well.

Where's The Classics?

Call of Duty Where's The Classics?

I'm sure plenty of players are ready for the classic Call of Duty's to make their Game Pass debut, however, you're going to have to keep on waiting as Microsoft has not said anything regarding the rest of the series. What we do know is that Black Ops 6 is coming to Game Pass in October, and possibly as a direct consequence, Microsoft raised the price of all Game Pass tiers. Game Pass is getting more expensive, and that means no more excuses, Microsoft. Stop drip-feeding us and bring all the Activision classics!
